Shazana Nadeem

Graduate Student Therapist

“If you know the art of breathing, you have the strength, wisdom, and courage of ten tigers.”

- Chinese proverb

Shazana is a graduate student therapist with The Family Institute at Northwestern University working towards a License in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She hopes to work with clients from a holistic perspective - focusing on mental, physical, and spiritual development. By promoting change, developing confidence, and building a toolset for growth, Shazana hopes to uplift communities of color and young adults.

Shazana works with clients to not only understand how their history affects them, but how they can create habits and mindsets which can mold their future in the way they want. She strives to create a collaborative space where client and therapist can smile, laugh, cry, and breathe together.

Before the counseling field, Shazana received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. Her experiences have always been people focused as she previously worked as a risk consultant and a high school teacher.
